The Milton Garden Club, founded in 1924, mission is to promote knowledge and appreciation of gardening and to encourage and engage in educational projects relating to conservation, horticulture, civic planting and preservation. We use the funds from the Greens Sale to fund club programs. Some highlights include:

  • Beautification of the Town of Milton including the Milton Public Library flower garden, the Powder House bulb garden, the Horse Trough across from the Library on Reedsdale Rd., and the Lily Corner at Canton Ave. and Brook Rd.

  • Planting and Maintenance of the Native Plant and Rain Garden sites at the Trailside Museum. These gardens promote education around native plants and provide a home for important native polinators.

  • Historic preservation of the Spalding Garden designed by famous landscape architect, Fletcher Steele.

  • Community grants for beautification, conservation or community service efforts in the Town of Milton.

  • Conservation lectures and programs open to the public.

  • Neponset River Education program that teaches the history and ecology around the Neponset River in all four Milton elementary school fourth grade classes.

  • Advocacy around conservation issues.
